It is. But I wish he'd said, "assistance for working families who have a hard time paying for heat in the winter" rather than using the acronym.

(Bonus points for any note about how many Alaskans use LIHEAP, since I understand it's cold there.)

I would have spent more time on that. I suspect that right about now, as weather turns colder in much of the country, people are beginning to get pretty scared about heating oil costs.

every 'swing state' but Florida heavily uses the program...tons of elderly people and working people. it was a pretty good thing to bring up
