there's a Temple football game at the linc on like tuesday the 21st at 8PM or something. tickets for front row on the 50 are available for $21. thinking that would be a decent time.

last night some shmuck asked me if "That's Amore" was by Tony Bennett or Frank Sinatra. I told him it was by Dean Martin. He goes and tells his friend, "I told you it was Frank Sinatra!"

My school had only 5,000 total students.

I think there were 5,000 students in my Theater Arts course -- the one where we watched movies. I'm not sure all the folks in the theater were actually enrolled in the class (or even the scholl). Sometimes you would bring a date to class becasue it was a movie and you didn't have to pay for it. Most of us were very poor back then.

Did you then treat your date to a free dinner at the Christian Society pizza party, before catching desert at your Resident Advisors ice cream study break?

What's a Resident Advisor? Is that a dorm thing? I didn't live in a dorm. Plus, back in the 70s we didn't have to eat much. Most folks lived on dope and beer.

So you'd go to the free movie at the Theater Arts class, then score some good dope from the 70s version of The Housh in State College and then you'd stumble over to a kegger for the free beer. That basically covered most of the major food groups. Grain and fiber and stuff like that.

By that time it didn't matter where you went next and if you managed to keep track of where the girl was throughout this, you were In Like Flint.

Once in a while you sold some plasma to the blood place and used your winnings to get a fish sammich and a large orange at Mickey D's.

I took a class in college called "History of Physical Education and Sports" and that class sucked. It seemed the primary focus of the class on the history of gymnastics in Sweden in the 17th century. Ridiculous.

i don't know how we got onto the subject, but my friend and i discussed the possibility of living in a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max/Road Warrior/Thunderdome-esque society, and how awesome it would be. but then i came to the realization that in an entirely nomadic society, it would probably be really, really easy to literally get away with murder, and if you ever came across another group of people, you'd probably have to murder them the first chance you got just in case they happened to be murderers themselves. you can't trust anyone in a post-apocalyptic world. it'd be like Survivor, except there's no such thing as immunity.

that kind of put a damper on the fantasy.

ah yeah see my prof was a negro league baseball buff, which makes since in pittsburgh given all the negro league history there. also a lot of early 20th century boxing, but that was kinda interesting.

I've looked into it. To live in reasonable comfort more than you'd think. Honduras might be a little cheaper.

The men's bathroom where I work is intermittently infested with small dark insects that look at first glance like flies, but on closer inspection appear to actually be moths. I've never seen these things anywhere else.
