This is old. I'd never seen it before. It's hilarious. Not really political, but it makes the Huckster look dumb.

Here's a pretty entertaining articleabout the respective gambling inclinations of McCain and Obama. I knew Obama was a poker player, didn't know that McCain likes the clickety-clack.

This website is ridiculous. I went to the "Why Obama" page and the only reason they give for Obama is:

Senator Obama is the one candidate who can unite the American majority that wants to move forward and improve the long-term economic well-being and independence of our nation.

This site doesn't give any idea on how Obama will accomplish this. It doesn't give any idea inkling that Obama will use Republican philosophies. It doesn't say how Obama's philosophies are more Republican than McCain. It does list a bunch of problems. Some of them Obama's policies are counter to these issues. Since when does Obama want a VAT tax? Some Obama and McCain have similar stances on. I wouldn't know any of this by looking at it.

I did find a reason they say to vote for Obama:

Senator Obama has rejected the politics of division and the win-at-all-costs attitude that has hurt our ability to move forward as a nation.

They haven't paid attention. Obama keeps talking negatively about Bush and the Republicans and how they're out to get him and how awful they are. He's using the politics of division to win at all costs. I've never seen a Presidential candidate who has talked this negatively about Republicans. It's a good strategy, because talking negatively about Republicans is what gets votes.

There are reasons Republicans might vote for Obama. I voted for Kerry in 2004. It certainly wasn't because I thought he aligned with my beliefs more than Bush did. If you think Obama has the better plan on Iraq and you're a Republican, then vote for Obama. But it certainly won't be because Obama is espousing a Republican philosophy on it.

If you think that higher taxes on the rich, increased spending on social programs, and Obama's healthcare plan are the way to go you aren't a Republican. I can't Obama attracting Republicans on Republican issues.

If I start a Democrats for McCain page does that mean Democrats are supporting McCain?

Hence my tongue-in-cheek caption for the link.

This is a bogus comparison meant to imply Clinton had something to do with this that distracts from what otherwise may be a valid point. Any president, I don't care if it were Jimmy Carter or W, would have come out of the 90's smelling like roses on the economics side.

Obama is just "clarifying" his position. He never was against the surge.

The Senate has approved a bill overhauling the rules on secret government eavesdropping and granting immunity to telecom companies that helped listen in on Americans after Sept. 11. The Senate passed the bill Wednesday, 69-28. When the president signs the bill, as expected, it will effectively dismiss some 40 lawsuits filed against telecom companies for alleged violations of wiretapping and privacy laws.

I wasn't too wild about Blanche Lincoln before, but now I'm never going to vote for her. And this isn't about FISA. It's about this.

I'm still undecided about Pryor. I'll probably vote against him too.

Hmm. So Obama votes with the President. McCain doesn't. Obama is four more years of Bush! Obama's message seems to be that it's okay to give a President all that power as long as it's him.

Obama keeps trying to poke holes in McCain by jumping on small inconsistencies. Obama did that today because McCain reiterated his immigration plan but didn't metion a path to citizenship. This is something real that the Democrats could seize on. John McCain failed to show up for more than half the votes last year and didn't show up for this one. How can we expect John McCain to work for the American people as President if he doesn't think it's important to solve the problems now? Come on, Democrats. Do I have to write this for you?

What happened in that clip is why Obama needs to avoid debates and town halls like they're the plague. He's not that comfortable in an unscripted situation. In speeches he comes across as super human. In these situations he comes across as unsure and just another politician. He needs to stay on hope, change, and another four years of Bush.

I agree with Obama that we should at least aspire to bilingualism. Learning another language never hurt anyone, and it can help with your career. Ixnay on the ayexilelay
