I don't know if suburban voters are an important farm bill constituency one way or the other. Really, in the end, it's the fault of the delegates to the constitutional convention from Del. and NJ who insisted that each state, no matter how dinky, gets 2 Senators.

Look, Bush was right about the farm bill, he was right about the transportation bill. It's unfortunate that the only things he gets right are things that he doesn't have a chance of winning.

As I hope we all know, no political party or faction or ideological grouping, has a monopoly on obnoxious stupidity and ignorance.

That said, I think we've found the perfect embodiment of the Age of Bush. This is an absolute jaw-dropper.

How this individual manages to dress and feed himself, let alone host a radio show, is way, way beyond my comprehension. Matthews is an equal-opportunity hardass as questioner, as that unfortunate Obama surrogate found out a couple months back. But he actually fulfills a journalistic function here; I'm almost kinda sorta proud that he's a Phillies fan.

This isn't just drunk me speaking here, but I really do hope that when Bush says he wasn't shooting at Obama, he wasn't shooting at Obama.

I think politics should stop at the shore, and if Bush really took a shot at Obama in the Knesset today, it's utterly despicable. I mean that too. I'll get principled about this shit like I did about vote fraud, even if it means bashing Bush in the end.

I don't think he was talking about Obama, but rather the general internationally goody goody people at the UN who think all we need to do is talk to folks, but I can see where the people who think he was hitting Obama are coming from. Really the whole thing made me quite uncomfortable.

Putting aside whether it was in reference to Obama...

Mentioning the Nazis while giving a speech in Israel, in the Knesset, a speech for Israel's anniversary... that's quite a lapse in judgement, a lapse in decorum and common sense.

What was he thinking? Was he thinking?

I think the question is, "Can he think?"

Love that interview. I think my favorite part was when the older guy told him to read the book of richard clarke, a man who was serving in a relevant position in the government at the time, and the babbling idiot responded that he should watch Pathway to 9/11. Gotta love the preference for a fictional account over knowledgeable testimony. For those who don't remember, Pathway to 9/11 was made by David Cunningham, who admitted the movie was not a documentary and that he took artistic license (read: lied).

That Iran getting nuclear weapons is a real threat to the very existence of Israel. And that millions of Jews are in danger if Iran gets nukes. I think that's what he was going for. The passage went over well with those at the speech.

As many of you know, astronomy and space travel are amongst my hobbies. I also like to extrapolate that knowledge into other arenas. After extensive research (and by "extensive research" I mean "I read my email this morning") I have discovered the following:

JULY 8, 1947

Many of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, nearly 60 years ago,
witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five alien
aboard crashed onto a sheep and cattle ranch just outside Roswell, New
Mexico. This is a well-known incident that many say has long been
covered up by the U. S. Air Force and other federal agencies and
organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of March 1948, nine
months after that historic day, the following people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

I imagine you're pissed on a regular basis.

Yesterday, I said something nice about Bush. Now, he's off begging the fuckers who bombed us if they could pretty please give us oil a little cheaper.

I ask, who is the appeaser, Mr. President?

Yeah, the important thing for me is that he busts on ANYBODY he thinks isn't pulling his weight, as the Obama surrogate learned. I think Matthews can be annoying (much like pretty much every other host on TV and/or radio) but he is also one of the people I enjoy watching the most.

Okay, I know for an absolute fact that Hillary, Kerry, Bill, Dean, and Pelosi were not born in March 1948... so I gotta question the rest of the premise here

(Bucky, I also know you're not vouching for this and are presenting it much as I did the Matthews/asshat interview--absolutely no offense to you is meant here.)
