The term racist is thrown around liberally. Voting for someone based on the color of their skin, white or black, is a racist act. I think it's a leap to call them racists.

So the guys who flew the planes into the WTC committed terrorist acts but they were necessarily terrorists?

Obama has basically won. He should clinch more than 50% of the pledged delegates by next Tuesday's elections in Oregon and Kentucky. It looks like Hillary is backing off her negative attacks.

There are 28 delegates in WV. They will apportion more of those out as it becomes apparent how each has done in the specific congressional districts.

At what point is it beyond ridiculous for her to continue? Or are we already there?

Eh. If she stays positive from here on out and enthusiastically endorses him in the beginning of June after the primaries are over, I don't think she's doing any harm to Obama.

Still no results from WV or MS.

I saw on the NYT site that she's planning to campaign in the northwest, California and South Dakota in the next few days.

Even I agree, though, that as long as she doesn't go scorched-earth, it's probably fine. Maybe her supporters will thus feel less (ahem) bitter...

You're using hyperbole if you want to compare someone voting for someone because of the color of their skin and someone who causes the deaths of thousands to facilitate bringing down America.

The Dem is leading by 10 points in the early returns from Mississippi. Of course, I have no idea whether this means much--maybe it's the college precincts or something.

I am not one who buys into the opinion that you and many others share that Bush is not a well intentioned man. I truly believe that Bush and the people who surround him are well intentioned albeit utterly incompetent. Thus I trust that he is not sadistic. Not exactly a leap of faith for me, but to each his own.

You can view Bush however you like, but I think your view of him is quite sensationalized. More like a character in a horror movie than an actual human being.

My point is if torture is as redundant as you say it is and Bush/CIA are lying as you say they are, what exactly do they stand to gain from all of this?

If this is in response to me... well, there's probably not much point in continuing a conversation. I tried to address your argument. You responded by babbling about Bush and telling me what my "views" are. About which, by the way, you're wrong.

The line about the "Chinese public," though, is really, really funny.

Well most of what you said I don't agree to be true so instead of getting in a poo poo throwing contest that is the equivalent of "nah uh" "yeah huh" "nah uh" "yea huh" I tried to explain my said of it, because from my point of view you are going to believe your beliefs to be true and mine ignorant no matter what I say given past threads on here, whether you say it or not. If you thought I was being arrogant then ignore the rest and answer the last paragraph, which is the main point.

By chinese public I meant before it was announced/used for propaganda. These subs are about the only part of their navy that is modern. The rest is mid cold war era soviet scraps for the most part.

I'm watching the Phils on mlb.tv and, now that I've done a small work thing, flipping between the results on dKos, the minor league games, and the Flyers. Last I saw on Kos it was 32 percent in, still 10 points, and it sounds from the (of course biased) commenters that the Republican candidate has had more of his strong areas report than the Dem.

Think I'll join you with a beer.

Our last hope is that white people in these rural counties that haven't reported hate black people. Or the better parts of DeSoto County still being outstanding.

To be fair, the DCCC inaccurately accused Davis of liking the Klan today. So I'm cool with winning on the backs of racist white people, if they're gonna be like that.

Six point lead, 2500-ish votes with maybe 40 percent in. Who knows.

The thing is that just by demographics, you guys aren't going to be able to win with "racist white people" all that much longer. I'm sure you've seen the data of your own age cohort's voting preferences--they aren't buying it. Bob Herbert (obviously dancing on the theoretical grave of reactionary Republicanism) and Andrew Sullivan (hoping for reinforcements as a social-liberal/economic conservative/Obamican) have been writing about this lately.

I think your big career move, the thing that would get you on cable TV, is to figure out how to take your own views and win some races with them.

Yeah, I'm gonna write my manifesto for the Republican Party one of these weekends.

DeSoto County will close the gap that's currently open, but we aren't going to win any of these other counties that are left.
