How do you deal with Southern summer heat and humidity?

southern? I live in DC. I hate the heat. I deal with it. The worst is the beard right now. Haven't shaved since January. That doesn't last in the summer.

Since I'm donating my hair when I get it cut, I don't really worry about that. And I can actually pull off the long hair. It was weird for the first 5 months or so, but I'm used to it now.

I don't know why, but before I even found out about your fondness for tennis, I imagined you looked like Luke Wilson in The Royal Tenenbaums. From now on I shall call you Baumer.

I actually have blond hair, so closer to Owen I think. Down to my shoulders now. I always tie it up in the back, and I wear one of these to the gym and to play tennis.

From May through October, DC might as well be in the South.

I wonder what that lady has been through... her eyes are lifeless like a dolls eyes. I feel for her.

I spent a summer in NC. Ive never experienced anything like that before. This area is easy compared to that.

On a scale of 1-10, how embarrassing is it that I was just playing "Fly" by Sugar Ray on the acoustic?

Why would it be embarassing, playing acoustic guitar is awesome and should make you feel free alive and sexy

Floppy what tab sites do you use?
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I would say if you played it poorly, or played it too ironically, it's pretty embarrassing. If you played it well and played it sincerely, then not at all.

Thanks, I use mostly the same sites, with the exception of some of the band-specific sites you look at. I was just wondering if there was a killer site out there that I was missing. I miss the golden days of OLGA

Now this is a fun song to play

Code: Select all
Intro: Guitar 1
The intro has some crazy bends. Just mess around with it until it sounds right.

e|---------------------|
B|-5^---5^-------------|
G|-----------4^---4^---|   x2
D|---------------------|
A|---------------------|
E|---------------------|

Verse Chords: Guitar 2

Asus2                                   E
e-0--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--00|
B-0--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--00|
G-2--2-2-2--2-2-2--222--2-2-2--2-2-2--221--1-1-1--1-1-1--111--1-1-1--11|
D-2--2-2-2--2-2-2--222--2-2-2--2-2-2--222--2-2-2--2-2-2--222--2-2-2--22|
A-0--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--0-0-0--002--2-2-2--2-2-2--222--2-2-2--22|
E---------------------------------------0--0-0-0--0-0-0--000--0-0-0--00|

This is repeated alone until 1:14 when Guitar 3 kicks in with this riff (the part where
says "Early, early in the morning.."):

Asus2                             E
e---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B---------0---------------0-------------------------------------------------|
G-----1-2----2--1-----1-2----2--1------------1---------------1--------------|
D-2-2-------------2-2-----------------1-2-4-----2-----1-2-4-----2-----------|
A---------------------------------2-2-------------2-2-----------------------|
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

At 1:33 Guitar 2 switches to this riff ("In the motions, and things that you say"):

e----------------------------------------|
B----------------------------------------|
G---6-9-6---------------6-9-6------------|
D-7-------6h7--9-7\6--7-------6h7--9-7\6-|
A----------------------------------------|
E----------------------------------------|

e----------------------------------------|
B----------------------------------------|
G----------------------------------------|
D---9-6-9---------------6-9-6------------|
A-7-------6h7--9-7\6--7-------6h7--9-7\6-|
E----------------------------------------|

At 2:02 the intro is reintroduced by Guitar 1 and played over Guitar 2's riff. The part
on the high E string is probably another instrument, but I already have 4 guitars so I'm
gonna leave it like this.

e----------------2-4-0-2----------------2-4-0-2-|
B-5^---5^----------------5^---5^----------------|
G-----------4^---------------------4^-----------|
D-----------------------------------------------|
A-----------------------------------------------|
E-----------------------------------------------|

Also Guitar 4 comes in and plays this at the same time as Guitars 1 and 2.

e------------------------------|
B-9-7-0-9--7--0--9-7-0-9--7--0-|
G------------------------------|
D------------------------------|
A------------------------------|
E------------------------------|
