It may not have any tangible impact on the election. I don't think his supporters have overwhelming swayed to one side or the other with the exception of a place like Georgia, where Obama saw his support among white males soar to 44%. But what it would do is steal the free media coverage for a day or two. With the California results coming in so late, HRC's campaign is probably banking on the media leading with "Clinton claims California" all day long tomorrow. I think the media has been pretty balanced in it's coverage and they all have emphasized the impact of the delegates and the fact that this race is going to drag on for some time yet, but HRC would take all the free media she can get. Especially after Obama blew her away in fundraising. Edwards endorsing Obama would shift the spotlight back to the Obama campaign while HRC was trying to anoint herself as the frontrunner.
