Random Thoughts Thread II

Putting almonds and sunflower seeds in my morning oatmeal isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I don't think I can take it every day.

I guess that makes Omar the black sheep of the family.

I need a day planner for work and school and there's a free one sitting in the lunch room but it's got the name of some dentist on the front. Is ten bucks worth not looking at his name every day, I wonder.

Ever since that phone interview, I really don't feel like doing dick at my current job.

I am not the actor. This can't be the scene. But I am in the water as far as I can see.

The cat just typed "defop" on my 'puter. Kinda resembles some sort of obscure DOS or UNIX command.

(actually, I think it's a command or function in one of the minor languages like Python or whatever)

The next time I get summoned for jury duty, I'm going to do whatever I have to to get picked.

Go to library school. The most recent issue of American Libraries talks about how much attorneys like librarians on juries and therefore are likely to choose them. Or just look like a librarian. Check out Marion's avatar for how to dress.

I don't know why people try to avoid jury duty so much. I've done it twice, and it really is kind of fun. One time I was on a trial that lasted two weeks. I was unemployed, so the 200 bucks or so I earned came in handy.

The second time, the defense attorney bumped me during voir dire. I would have been fair. Again, I wouldn't have minded serving too much--it was summer vacation, and I really didn't have much to do. There's not much around the Essex County Courthouse though.

Bahaha! The program description in the Dish Network guide for some show on TLC named "My First Home" got truncated to say "... A couple need to improve their credit so they can buy a ho"
