I think Condrey is a better idea. No need to run hamels out there with a 6 run lead. You might hurt him or wear him out for a possible playoff appearance. Plus, there was a chabnce to add to the lead. Bad, Charlie, BAD!!!
Agnostic dyslexic insomniacs lay awake all night wondering if there is a Dog.
The risk/reward for this is so obvious. He's at 102. He's been brilliant. He recently was hurt. The other team's lineup is not so great. Even if Condrey or Geary gets hit, none of our good relievers are torched; you can use them if need be. Why risk hurting Cole and/or having to bring someone in mid-inning with men on base?
I know pitch counts are mildly over-rated but batting Hamels there with the bases loaded, a 6-0 lead, and having over 100+ pitches thrown defies both logic and common sense.
Then again most phans want a manager who thinks outside the box so be careful what you wish for.
