On a scale of 1-10 the Phillies walk-off-stand-around-the-plate-and-jump-up-and-down is mediocre at best compared to other teams. I give them a 6 and think that they need to work on that in spring training next year.

I saw an interview with David Wright last night and he kept saying that the Phils really know how to take advantage of the ballpark. Is that all teams do that lose here is blame the ballpark. Your bullpen sucks, get over it.

At least we have an opportunity to do it.

From the NY Daily News:

Pedro Feliciano's role as a neutralizer to the Phillies' lefthanded bats had been so valued during the last trip here, the Mets wouldn't excuse him from that late-June series to go home for the birth of his child.

Not that I'm complaining, but why in the world wouldn't the Mets have Wagner pitch to Howard in the 10th? Wasn't he already warming up or warm at that time? If not, probably could have gotten him ready pretty quickly since he was definitely warming up earlier in the game.

I just can't believe that the reason would be that the Mets wanted to "save" him for later in case they took the lead in the 11th. It can't completely escape Randolph and the Mets coaches that not using your best reliever when you need him will probably lead to there not being an 11th inning.

I was wondering the same thing too, especially given Howard's prior beat downs of Mota.

Mets fans are wondering the same thing. They were killing Willie last night.

I've probably seen the replay of Howard's HR a dozen times already since last night and I've gotten (dare I say it) goosebumps every single time.

I read in one of todays online papers that Chris Coste 'took blame' for the home run off of Adam Eaton. It may have been mentioned here, but whats up with that? Did he call the wrong pitch, as opposed to bad location?

Mitch was on WIP this morning and was speculating that Wagner may have a tired arm if he wasn't used in an important situation like that...
