Hard to tell if Hak is clueless or if he is just trying to talk up Amac. Doesn't make sense though some of the stuff he said if true on Reddit. One person said he told his group that Amac is a top 3 NHL Dman but that can't be right.

- Acknowledged they have several pending UFA defensemen and that he expects several young defensemen on the team next year. Said they have several players in the system who are just about ready. Did not names names, but the expectation is that young players in the system will fill out the defense next season. Did not seem concerned they may be injecting multiple D rookies into team at one time; acknowledged the rookies will have ups and downs and that's part of the process.

- Said that if the young D guys have the attitude of Provorov, they'd be on the team and indicated they will do well if they fall in line w/ Provorov.

- Asked why A-Mac is getting top minutes when his Corsi is one of the worst in league ... questioner had specific statistics he cited to back up the question. Hak got all red in the face, and went on several minutes defending A-Mac. Flat out said A-Mac is a top 3 or 4 defensemen in the NHL. Specifically said "you can throw Corsi out the window." Hak seemed to legitimately believe A-Mac is a top defensemen, deserves top minutes. He said last year when he was sent down to AHL, his game was totally different and A-Mac has turned it around and become one of the best on the team. Hak doesn't like it when fans "boo" A-Mac when he makes a mistake on the ice during home games.

- Became very angry when someone asked how far the Flyers are away from Capitals and Penguins. Said they can compete with any team in the NHL. That was the last question directed to him. He left the room somewhat flustered. Looked like he was happy to get out of the room.

Hak is to the Flyers what Doug Collins was to the Sixers.

Need a captain that makes everyone play awesome every night.

This seems impossible but the Flyers do not have a single +/- positive player; closest are Matt Read and Scott Laughton, who are both even. Voracek (-18), Giroux, Simmonds, Schenn (all -17) and Ghost (-21) are a combined minus-88.

Team looked great in the first period last night and then took the rest of the night off. I have defended Mason often but those were two very soft even strength goals last night. Our power play is so predictable, I have no idea how they ever score on it. Play the puck to center ice, hit the trailer who carries into the zone, then spend as much time as possible getting the puck to Giroux. Twice on that last PP, Ghost had like 30 feet of ice in front of him to either shoot or skate in but instead passed across ice through three guys to get it to Giroux. For as much fun as they were earlier in the season, they are nearly unwatchable now.

hard to argue that. it's the same mediocre team from last year, except the goaltending has gone from above average to below average and ghost is experiencing a sophomore slump. i've been disappointed in hextall going with known mediocrity (raffl, vv, signing weise) instead of seeing if guys like weal or leier could bring it on an everyday basis. even colin mcdonald would add something this team needs. i do think they will be pretty good down the road, though their strength (yound dmen) typically take the longest mature. i'd love to pick up a legit #1 guy somewhere along the way to lead that pack. it'll be nice to get a few of the anchors (streit, hopefully read or amac in a cap floor dump or expansion draft) off the team, but as i mentioned before, i'm not sure hextall is the right guy for the job, but i have no idea who he is even answering to these days.

I think Hextall is terrible.....and I was very excited when they hired him. It's just shocking to me that Ron Hextall, given the way he played the sport, could consistently field a lifeless, boring roster like he has his entire tenure. I don't get it.

For years I trashed Clarke when he was GM. The one thing I will give him is he always tried to put an entertaining product on the ice for the fan base. You can be bad but play with a ton of effort and character. You can't be bad and boring.
