What a surreal feeling to have a childhood dream realized!!! I could not be more honored to have been drafted by the @Phillies

“I always felt if someone made me the right offer I’d have realized my dreams. The moment you’re drafted is the one you feel like you’ve waited for your whole life. It was crazy when I heard my name. So I ran to the store and bought a Phillies hat.”
Young, who accepted a scholarship to play for Hofstra University, said one of the first texts he received was one of congratulations from Hofstra baseball coach John Russo.
“He’s a class act. Hofstra was the right fit for me but this is an opportunity I’ve always wanted.”
Young knows he’ll be wearing the Phillies red and white at their minor-league complex in Clearwater, Florida, very soon.
“I texted [Nick Fanti] right away and he texted me right back to congratulate me and tell me what a great organization the Phillies are,” said Young of his friend, a lefty from Hauppauge who signed last year with the Phillies. “This feels so right for me and my family.”

What a day! I would like to thank the @Phillies for making my dream a reality! A truly special day for my family and me! #GoPhillies

Phillies baby lets gooooo!!!
“Surreal feeling that I finally made it,” said Miller, who will choose between signing a pro contract or playing next season for Fresno City College. “Once-in-a-lifetime moment. Definitely a dream come true. I’ve worked my butt off to get where I’m at right now … just to get my name called in the draft.”
Brown said he’d like to sign rather than pitch for Central Arizona, a junior college in Coolidge.
“I don’t think this will be a tough decision,” said Brown, whose fastball sits at 89-91 mph. “I’m happy with where I was drafted. I had a good season, the team had a good season. I think it’s time to go out and play pro ball.”

Second, really liked the draft. Kudos to Almaraz and his staff. I absolutely think they spent nearly every dollar of that allocation. Seems to me that at least 7 HS guys are signing (Moniak, Gowdy, Stobbe, Stephen, Brown, Miller and Young), maybe more. Seemed like they got really good value on the college guys they drafted. GCL lineup really is going to be something this year. I cant imagine we don't have a deal with Moniak but I suspect they'll wait until at least Wednesday given that the Phillies aren't home until then.

We went under slot on a very high ceiling hitter instead of the risky college pitcher with worrisome control issues. Most analysts voted
the Phils the #1 day two draft class, which most overlook but it the most important stat in my opinion. It always comes down to mental
makeup. Game will always be 95% mental. But I can't envision a scenario where they selected better. The "bleeping" trophy is coming back...
The Phillies expect to sign each of them. "We had [Stephen] evaluated as the third-best high school bat in California. A really good looking kid who can hit. He has power. We think he's a corner guy who's going to hit for average and hit 20 home runs. "The other two are big kids. They're throwing in the low 90s right now and they have upside still. It's good for us to have two upside guys right there."
"I would like to thank Nova Southeastern University for welcoming me with open arms after going to LSU my first two years. I would like to thank all the coaches, players, and the support staff for everything they have done. I will continue to excel in my career as I move on to playing in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. It means so much knowing the whole NSU community is behind me in chasing my dreams."
The Phillies already have a commitment from their 20th-round pick, Cowley County Community Junior College first baseman Caleb Eldridge.
The Phillies worked Young out this week and think they can sign him. "He's got a really good delivery. He's got great arm action. We've seen him pitch 90-91 tops. He pitches about 87 right now. He's a projection guy and we think if everything comes together with this guy he can throw 95-96. He's just a baby right now and we're going to make a run at him."
Kent will travel to Clearwater, Fla. on Tuesday for a physical before heading to finish the summer with the Short-Season Single-A Williamsport Crosscutters. He will be playing to get placed somewhere within Philadelphia's organization for spring training come March.
Davidson’s plans were to enroll at Clemson and not to play professional baseball. "Yes, I am going to be a Tiger." In less than two weeks the Providence High School standout will enroll at Clemson. "I have summer school. I will be going down around June 25."

Thank you everyone for all messages and support today! Could not be happier or more excited to be a part of the Phillies organization
Maglich expects to sign with the Phillies on Sunday and will take a physical Monday in Clearwater. On Tuesday he will likely join the franchise’s short-season Single-A affiliate in Williamsport, Pa.
Bins has thought about playing at Santa Rosa Junior College, which won the 2016 California State championship, or going with potential offers from four-year schools that have yet to be finalized. “Well, for me to take the Phillies offer, they would have to pay for four years of my college and I would have to agree to terms of a signing bonus they would potentially offer.”
the first-team All-Southeast Region prospect turned down six-figure offers from clubs to sign in the top 10 rounds.
