I wouldn't count on that. There is just as much of a chance that one or two of Schultz, Streit or MDZ gets traded. MDZ is a UFA at the end of the season. With all of the young talent in the system, I don't know what Hexy wants to pay him and for how long. I think that MDZ wants more money and years than Hexy will offer. As for the two other UFAs, there done here at the end of the season and are candidates for trade.

I disagree. Amac makes too much for any team to take him through the waivers process, but if they did, it's a gift. This will happen every year for the duration of the contract.

I think that if a trade was going to happen, it would have happened at the draft. This is also why Schultz' 2-year deal was a head scratcher.

I consider MDZ a possible core piece of the defense for many years. He's only 26. The Flyers basically saved his career. He has been terrific when he's been healthy, how he comes back from his injury will be interesting to see how that impacts his next contract.

All of this is assuming there isn't a significant defenseman injury across the league. If that happened, I think Streit would be the most likely candidate to be dealt, as he would at the deadline, depending on where the Flyers are in the playoff race.

Hakstol also loves Manning.

Provorov and Konecny look like locks to me right now to make the team.

This is the team I'm hoping for.

AMac clears easily. You can get in the 14 games Manning needs to be expansion draft eligible and then go from there. Maybe they'll think Morin is ready by then.

Laughton's exempt and has been outplayed by Cousins. If somebody claims Weal or Vandevelde, so be it.

Hakstol made the comment that Morin is close to being NHL ready and could be a call up guy. Very encouraging

Stolie the Goalie was called up for tonight's game since Mason might be out. His Hooters waitress fiancee is having a baby today or tomorrow

Not sure what happened today at practice but Laughton is now out 3-4 weeks with a "lower" injury and Manning is week-to-week with an "upper" injury, so it looks like Konecny and Provorov will make the team. Yay guys?

Interesting that the guys most on the fence about making the team now have "injuries".

Was Laughton on the fence? Has he fallen so fast?

He still has a 2-way contract, right? I think that helped.

Laughton and Cousins are the same player, IMO. Cousins does it better. Laughton doesn't really add anything.
