signed defenseman TJ Brennan to a multi-year deal. Not sure if this is a Phantoms move or what. He was with Toronto's AHL team last season
Brennan grew up and played youth hockey in the Philadelphia area - he was a member of the Philadelphia Little Flyers and played in the Flyers Cup tournament in 2005 with Moorestown high school in New Jersey.

phantoms are stacked. some really good signings. i think brennan is in the top 5 all time for goals from a dman.
went for 25-43-68, +34 last season and was named ahl outstanding defenseman.

Hextall has had a really disappointing offseason. No awful moves, just didn't improve the pesky NHL roster. If he didn't have a plan to do something big, why buyout RJ? Pissed away cap space next year.

I almost agreed with you but took a deep breath. RJ was probably bought out because he sucked and was a waste of a roster spot. Homer would take that cap space and sign a Vinny or extend a MacDonald with it. And really there's only 7.3m available with Schenn likely getting 4-5m of that (Cousins and Manning also are restricted). I was hoping for a trade for someone like Taylor Hall or an early 20's guy in a contract dispute but knew it was a long shot. Jake hopefully will be healthy and back to the ppg forward that got him Stamkos money. Ghost/Gudas/Couts/Schenn all could get better. Del Zotto returns. Our 3rd/4th line depth and Phantoms signings create a more consistent team that doesn't have the winless streaks like last year. All of this plus another year in Hack's system. Boring but a good chance of 2017 playoffs and 25m projected cap space in the offseason (without a goalie).
