gona suck loosing arch and ochefu but this team's returning a ton (assuming no one is stupid and goes pro too early in an already deep draft) and it's going to be tough to stop a lot of them.

i don't pay close enough attention to see what their recruiting is like but it seems like every year they have a really good freshman or two coming in. brunson looks extremely capable at the point, hart and jenkins are going to both probably average 15+, and booth has shown he's a legit scorer too.

i didn't want to start talking about this yet and bask in the glory, but since someone brought it up..

top 25 kid in omari spellman and a transfer from fordham. top 150 kid from hershey too. not losing a ton of guys so scholarships limited. spellman will be really good.

They need a rugged big man to replace Ochefu. They're going to be top 20, but not top 5 next year I think.

My in-stadium experience notes:

- Spent hours plotting how to sit near Nova fans/away from UNC people
- Got StubHub in a section about 30 rows behind Nova bench but a few feet beyond baseline
- The rows in front were 90 pct Nova but I was sitting in an area it started to morph into all UNC
- Two young guys to my right were UNC and one of them was poster boy Entitled Whiny Fan: refs fault (he started this when fouls were 3-1 in first half), worst game we've played all year and we're still in it, some guy always has career night against us (Booth)
- A poster guy Philly dickhead further down told him off a couple times and tried to escalate after the game. I played good cop and said these guys are fine, leave them alone (my Eagles watch group hates when I do that in Dallas)
- I video'd Paige possession and thus decided keep camera off for the last 4.7 and just let it happen :-D

- So awesome watching the team watch One Shining Moment from the stage, they were beaming
- PA cuts off so you don't hear anything during net cutting ceremony, most people wouldn't have known that was even happening because of the mob scene on court

Finally as everyone agrees, dome basketball sucks. I was pretty damn close, and could see the ball at least. But many of the stoppages are a total mystery because you can't hear tell the difference between ref whistles and sneakers screeching, assuming you hear anything. Just have to sit there and wait for the players to walk whichever direction the ball is going.

Just got a work call and my voice sounds like I'm being axe murdered. And I'm 10 hours from Springsteen back home in Dallas...good times

Even I can appreciate what nova did last night without bringing up anything else.

Happy for Nova fans. Sad for this group of Heels. For a team constantly called weak, they showed some real balls last night. Didn't fold down 10 with 4 left. Proud of how far they've come over the last year.

This notwithstanding, that 3/2/1/1 was a good Miami team, the hottest player in the tournament, and the best two teams pre-tournament. No backing into this one.

i guess? the conference went 19-7. that is with one of its best teams sitting out because of strippers. four teams in the elite 8, all on the same side of the bracket. so two loses came against conference opponents.

if you dont think the acc was the best conference in ncaa basketball this year, then i dont know man.
