After 4 pro, BCS Football and Final 4 National Title are the two biggest events with national respect and media exposure. All people with a rooting interest from the Phila. region can share in the glory if there is victory. It's not that you rooted for your arch rival from the the mainline, it's that you rooted for your city to garner a championship of note".
