I really enjoy your Phillies insights - but man some of your Eagles stuff is really puzzling. Can you please tell my why the Eagles roster is more mediocre than Tenn, Miami, Browns, NYG, TB, SF or other openings??

You can argue Mariota, Winston and Eli - as QB - but other than that - I've demonstrated in other threads - that:

Cox, Logan, Barwin, Hicks, Jenkins, Peters, Johnson, Murray, Ry Math, J Math, *Agholor (*upside is big), Sproles, Ertz, Celek, Kelce, Rowe, Alonso = talent

Maxwell, Kendricks, Graham = at least not no talent

The holes are G, DB, perhaps need another DE and WR - but hardly a total rebuild.

but for the 3rd time, I'm posting this link - because if you haven't read it or something similar - you are just reacting without any context or data -- you don't have to agree that this makes him qualified or talented, or back off any questions about what he might be and why you don't like the move - but at least get some clarity on his track record and what could or could not support his candidacy:

I don't think anyone knows enough about Pederson to like or not like the hire.

He's not going to play QB for us. He's going to coach.

If you read Pederson's background, he's been around great coaches his whole career. And he's been successful (as a coach).

I'll go along with the idea that Pederson was the guy to beat all along. Don't think that Lurie really wanted to let go of Reid but sort of had to do that. So now he hires Big Red's nominee. The Gase chase was probably just a look over to see what he had to offer. McAdoo might have been a possibility. He wasn't known to be available when the search began. Perhaps he excited Lurie/Roseman more than Pederson but the Giants snapped him up when the bIrds came sniffing around. It could be that the Eagles' discussion with Coughlin really was about hiring McAdoo more than hiring him. Its hard to believe that the birds had a shot at a bigger name-Gruen, Bullock, Cowher or Dungy. Those guys would only come here if they had total control which Lurie wasn't going to give.
We'll just have to see how this plays out. If he bombs, probably it will be the end of both Pederson and Roseman. So the GM had better play nice in the sandbox.

I don't really care about the hire because no one really knows about these things, but I'm very cynical about what the logic behind it almost certainly was. I hate this team.

As I'm sitting here I'm thinking back to how I was feeling after the Monday night game against Washington as Chip started here. I assuredly believed we were about to win 3 Super Bowls and that Chip was the greatest coach of all time. I was terribly wrong, so I'll have to approach this by thinking that I just flat out don't know anything and hope for the best.

This is uninspiring, but better than Coughlin. Shoulda just let this Chip thing play out another season.

I'm so apathetic to this whole situation so whatever.
