I'm ok with it, don't think he was the best option out there but he's been coaching under Reid for a while and played for Reid, Holgrem, and Shula so he's been around great coaching all his career just about.

I think a panic move would be hiring an ex super bowl winning coach with a big name who hasn't coached in years to a big contract and giving them power, this seems like the complete opposite of a panic move

I don't know what to think about this, I don't hate it, but I would have felt better about it if it didn't seem so haphazardly accomplished, but honestly, I think what made it feel so nutty to me was the whole "eagles are close to hiring Coughlin" thing, which we don't know how true any of that was it was sources say bs. If they wanted DP from the outset, and they got who they wanted then ok, I'm going to wait and see what kind of staff he builds and what the draft and FA look like before I really form much more of an opinion.

idk, doesn't seem like a panic move to me either. more of a, well pederson is pretty much the only guy who wants the job so here it is move.

I wouldn't say its a panic move but I think is reflective of the notion that the Lurie/Roseman dynamic and the mediocre roster talent made this a rather undesirable choice for anyone who had any options at all.
