This is excellent advice I think. Another technique is to change the shape of your friends from a circle to a hexagon or something similar. Maybe a double helix would be good. Play around with it and report back.

Or you can just change the shape of your friends in the trim circle. The bridge and Eiffel Tower shapes are popular amongst the kids these days.
