I've never seen a minute of the Lord of the Rings movies, nor have I read any of the books. Same goes for Harry Potter.

I live in America, and I've never see a minute of either movie series or read any of the books.

Yeah, I'm just not into the whole fantasy and mythology thing. It's not that I actively dislike it, or am saying that I wouldn't enjoy them if I saw them, but I've never felt like sitting down and watching any of them.

Mythology interests me, Fantasy doesn't. I generally only like non-fiction mythology though.

See I like mythology way too much, therefore I don't want to get too involved, because I know I would. That's the same reason I don't listen to the Grateful Dead.

I've never seen any of the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter movies either. Plus I've never seen one episode of 24, Lost, or Heroes.

My 3 favorite TV shows are all over with- The Sopranos, Oz, and The Wire. Aside from Law & Order: SVU and the original CSI which I will catch once in a while, I basically only watch sports- even if it's just the horse racing channel in the high 200's of Comcast.

I was more just surprised by the one minute thing and nitpicking. I didn't think it would be possible in the last five years to not to be in a room with some people who were watching or a Circuit City or a Blockbuster or just flip onto TBS for a minute.

That's funny, because I originally wrote "one second" but figured I had seen a commercial or highlight or something at some point. I guess I should have written "more than one consecutive minute in a single viewing" to be precise. Nitpicking aside, I brought it up because Chuck Klosterman has a fairly amusing article in the new Esquire about how he has never read or seen anything related to Harry Potter, and how it has affected him.

If you've never read it, I recommend the following. Technically speaking its your mythology, fantasy and ancient greek history all rolled into one (just after the events of 300, if you're keeping score). Oh, and your fancy clever non-reliable narrator thrown in for good measure. But in a very clever way.

Seriously, one of my absolutely favourite novels.

I will not ask how the master and margarita doesn't constitute fantasy.
WFO-That face implies the bottle is destined for something nonstandard.
Woddy:to smash in her old face
WFO-You went to a dark place there friend.

I like reading reference books about Greek mythology. I don't care for contemporary fiction built around mythological worlds and creatures.

Dad?

My Dad hates all things science fiction and fantasy. I don't know how I got to see Star Wars growing up -- I don't remember. I know my aunt took me to see ET. We didn't go to movies much.
