The deal averages out to $3.875 million. The irony here is that had Del Zotto’s arbitration gone the distance next Tuesday, and had he been awarded a deal in excess of $3.8 million a season, the Flyers could have exercised their walk-away rights.

FWIW Eklund says the Jets are trying to trade for one of our defensemen but Byfuglien wouldn't be involved in the deal

(Also says 5 teams are trying to get JVR outta Toronto)
