It's much more impressionistic, but I do think vocabulary is much more limited today than it used to be. And despite access to the whole world of information through technology, they seem wildly ill informed about their world.

My life is just becoming more miserable. With all of the crap that I've had to deal with over the last two years with my wife's health, I thought we finally turned a corner last week.

Now my great dane, who my wife gave me as a promotion present when I made Lieutenant Colonel, has been diagnosed with territorial aggression and we have to send him back to the breeder in Alabama.

I'm broken-hearted. He is the best dog I've had - 98% of the time. He has snapped and growled at the kids four times in the last week. I cannot afford to have him bite anyone, especially outside my family. A friend of mine, when he was in 10th Special Forces Group, had his dog bite his next door neighbor. He was charged and almost lost his security clearance.

There are times where I just want to build a shack made of driftwood and live on a small island in the Caribbean. This is one of those days.

Fuck man that sucks. Really sorry to hear. Can't imagine having to give up my dog.
