Defending AL Champs KC Royals: 2015 MLB Random

Annnnnnd a whole season and 45 pages later, the Royals are the #1 seed in the American League, and the path to the World Series runs through Kansas City.

They'll get steamrolled by Toronto, if they don't get bounced by the Yankees in the first round, but hey, there it is.

Only 3 of the 10 playoff teams winning would piss me off. Seems like a recent low.

No Giants, no Red Sox, only one NL East team.

In order of importance - go not Mets, go not Yankees, go not Cardinals

#Angels officially name Billy Eppler their general manager. He gets a 4-year contract. Team says he will report directly to Arte Moreno.

Yeah, disappointed that none of the AL teams I actually like (Indians, O's, A's) made it, but there's no one there I hate except the Yankees. In the NL, I guess Go Pirates, though I can't hate on the Dodgers like I usually do if they actually play Chase and Jimmy. If not, then screw 'em. I could put up with the Cubs winning too, so that's actually three bearable teams out of five.

Oh. So I guess what I'm saying is , ditto.

Oakland promoted Beane to EVP of Baseball Ops and named David Forst the new GM

Milwaukee kept Counsell's hitting coach (Darnell Coles) and 3B coach (Ed Sedar) but wiped out the rest of the coaching staff

Since I've not payed much attention to the Phillies on a game by game basis this year, I'm actually pretty excited for baseball playoffs. I'll lose interest if we get some kind of Yankee/St. Louis world series, but a Yankee/Cub would be really fun. Or a KC/Cub would be even better. Yankee/Dodger would be insufferable I think, probably even worse than Yankee/Met.

Though like many of you I think a Chase/Jimmy powered Dodger team would be nice.

How about Hamels vs Happ in a World Series game?! 8-)
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."

Ichiro will be back with Marlins next year to pursue 3000 hits. Good for him, hope he gets there.

Over the last 5 years, he has an 82 OPS+ (.268./.304/.342 - .646 OPS) and a total of 3.8 WAR, for $50,000,000. It's the 6th-worst OPS+ of any player with 2000 PA over that span, and the rest are middle infielders and catchers.

I hope he plays next year with the Marlin, and 5 more after that with the Mets.
