2017-2018 should be a pretty good winter with the Flyers finally having cap room and the Sixers plan coming to fruition.

nope. there's a reason columbus wanted to dump him so badly, was making him a healthy scratch down the stretch last season, and would be willing to take on a contract like hartnell's to get rid of him.

Joking. However, this would be the year to suck. McDavid and Eichel are generational offensive talents that would be perfect to pair with our D prospects and young NHL forwards. Not to mention Noah Hanifin is being mentioned as one of top defense prospects in the last decade.

I don't even know how it would be possible for the Flyers to suck enough to get either one of those guys. Would have to be a complete blow up of the team, which doesn't make sense to do.

There is a lottery now so anything can happen if their bottom 10. Our defense is all 5/6 pairing guys making an above average Mason below average. One key offensive injury with no production from Schenn or Couts could send this team easily into the bottom 10.

If they beat the Pens tonight, then they are really fine with that brutal schedule. A bad loss though and I would be worried.
