Pittsburgh Penguins forward Craig Adams thinks some Flyers fans cross the line when it comes to insulting a certain superstar teammate that all of Philadelphia seems to despise.
In particular, the 37-year-old, two-time Stanley Cup champion singled out teenaged girls who hold defaming handmade signs up against the glass before Flyers-Penguins games at Wells Fargo Center.
Guest-starring on a Root Sports reality show that is hosted by a former Pittsburgh Steelers punter, Adams sounded off on Flyers fans.
During a segment of "A Day in the Life with Josh Miller" that was filmed in a Pittsburgh restaurant and debuted on air Thursday night, the topic came up when a woman sitting next to Miller and Adams stated, "Boston fans are the most profane in sports."
Here's what was said from there:
Adams: "Philly fans probably give them a run, though."
Miller: "I was going to say, it must be a Philly writer who says ...
Adams: "They are ... They are shocking! When you go there ... like the signs they have in the warm-up. It's one thing if you see a biker holding a profane sign. When you see a 15-year-old girl holding a sign and the things it says on it to Sid, it's like, 'How do your parents let you out of the house holding a sign like that?' "
