I guess you can't really blame him when he hears similar crap from upstairs. But I wasn't feeling him blaming his latest defensive miscue on "coming off of the bench"

In a CSN Philly post game interview, he said it's difficult coming off the bench and he's trying to catch every ball out there. So he is blaming his PT for some of the defensive woes.

You can make a strong argument for playing him every day just to make sure he won't rebound, but he looks even more horrible than his stats

And enough already with the "jerked him around" and "playing out of position" crap.

Yeah. He had all the chances in the world. Him turning into a smoking turd of a player has been a huge setback for this club.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

It blows my mind that no one can help him, or he doesn't want to be helped, have balance at the plate. The list of guys who got away with that over the long haul is pretty short. Especially when you can't run or field.

On July 1st, Dom Brown played in his 81st game, in the team's 83rd game. He'd started about 73 or 74 of the 81, and missed only 2.

He rewarded this kind of consistent playing time with a .225 / .277 / .323 slash.

Since then, he's played in 37 out of 47, starting only 24. He's hit .229 / .283 / .362 in that stretch. Still dogshit, but just a slightly smaller pile.

He's awful. And he's full of it regarding lack of playing time causing him problems.

I wonder if they'd just release him this off-season.

Doesn't he have an option left? They need to sign someone else to play LF and let him compete for a bench spot in ST or send him to LHV.

Larry Bowa is currently teaching Andres Blanco and Freddy Galvis how to play first base. So that’s a thing.

This can only end up badly.

Guy wins batting title in off-year and steals some bases, and gets signed to crazy extension that saddles us for next 7 years...If he batted .325 with an .OPB .400+ well that's a whole other situation. If he was a gold glove cf-er that too.

That's hysterical. Freddy Galvis and Andres Blanco. Too bad we don't have the DH in the NL - they could both play.

The Phillies gave him every opportunity to succeed because he was such a heralded prospect. So highly thought of by the org that he was the one untouchable prospect in any deal 4-5 years ago. In hindsight, it's obvious it was a bad evaluation based on a 60 game stretch in AA and they should've traded him when his value was so high.
