Living in Seattle, I've watched a team with big money and lots of coveted prospects build a team that has won as many as 75 games in recent years. It's pretty easy to build 102 win teams. A snap really.

If he built that team, you would have a point.

He made a couple compression trades using most of our resources on the farm and shelling out the biggest contracts in team history by far. I do give him some credit for getting those things done, but he also traded Lee to Seattle for nothing. I'm not saying he doesn't have some skills. The problem is his weaknesses are so glaring and so consuming that he is a disaster in his current position. On his behalf, I will say that he is surrounded by like-minded people who are no buffer to his weaknesses -- in fact, they exacerbate his weaknesses.

But I'll shut up about it until his next dumbass move. I'm really curious to see what he decides to do. I'm hoping for the best.

Hypothetically, if Amaro is fired after 2014 who are 1) the candidates that the Phillies would consider hiring and 2) the candidates that you would want them to consider?

I think they would look at old school guys like Dan Jennings of the Marlins or Jim Bowden or even Mike Arbuckle.

I wish they'd consider David Forst of the A's, Thad Levine of the Rangers, Jason McLeod of the Cubs or Paul DePodesta of the Mets deserves another shot.
