Yeah, 'cause there are tons of guys who catch who can be league-average hitters over a 15-year career, with a 5 or 6 year peak of all-star caliber play.

Even Amaro has to understand that not only is there no purpose to keeping Young but it has a negative impact on the development and evaluation of Ruf and Asche.

On the other hand, he is at least showing the other GMs that he won't cave for bad value when they have a need. Sometimes you have to do that too.
