Dom Brown: Phillies Random Thoughts

Whole article about this today. I have never cared for too much celebration, but I cannot really get too spun up much either. Sometimes the "men playing a kids game" stuff bleeds over into the reality that there is a Peter Pan quality to too many "men" in baseball when it comes to this stuff, where as they are "it a business" when it is time to count the coin. I think that the infamous "scout" comment is a bit over the top itself.

"Brown better watch it with that weak act he's pulling after his home runs," one scout said. "He's going to tick off the wrong pitcher and wind up wearing it. There are a lot of people watching who hope it changes soon. It's very unprofessional."

Really? Weak act? Which has been pine rider is this?!? Pretty sad.

That sounds like one of Stark's "scouts"

According to an unnamed, middle-aged, white baseball scout from middle America, never has "swag" and "showing up the pitcher" been so GUTLESS and COWARDLY
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Guaranteed that wasn't a scout... it was Mike Rizzo.

I don't give a shit if he runs the bases facing backwards like Jimmy Piersall (after a HR against Dallas Green, btw). It's just dumb from a self-preservation standpoint. Why risk injury by baiting pitchers into throwing at you?
