To keep pitching or shut it down? I doubt he wanted to shut it down, but we all knew his elbow was affecting him 6 weeks ago.

I tend to assume most pitchers are eager to stop pitching sooner to reduce further damage and protect their future. not like it effects his service time or salary (or chance to win anything) in this scenario

but I'm not sure

2B is the most dangerous non-catcher position. Anywhere else would be better for Utley's health most likely.

Phil's K/BB rate is 3.35. Second best in the league is 2.91. Average is 2.48.

They give up a lot of homers though.
