I don't take these awards all that seriously.
computer awards are great too. but that's not what the MVP is about nor should it be in my opinion.
that's what makes baseball so great.
The day we let computers replace out ability to think and apply whatever standards we want to awards is the day baseball gets a lot less fun.
I love Sabermetrics and all the new ways of thinking and discovering new ways to understand player value. but that isn't what the MVP or other awards are about and I hope they never are.

In case it wasn't clear I obviously don't think "computers" should determine seasonal awards
I don't understand what's so amazingly offensive about the MVP being awarded to the best baseball player. Why do you get to decide what MVP should be "about?"
