Mariners are moving in the fences at Safeco.

Seattle Times

The fences will move in at Safeco Field in 2013, with the largest change from left-center field to center, where the fences will be as much as 17 feet closer to home plate.

The changes:

• From the left-field corner (which will stay at 331 feet), the wall will jut out to 341 feet, instead of 337;

• The left-field power alley will decrease from 390 feet to 378 feet.

• From left-center to center field, the wall will be moved in from four feet to 17 feet at different points. The distance in straightaway center field will be 401 feet, down from 405.

• From center field to the right center power alley, the wall will move in four feet. At the right-field power alley the distance will change from 385 feet to 381.

• From the right-field power alley to the right-field corner the dimensions will not change, and will be 326 feet down the line.
