It's funny how you admit blog writers are essentially primarily focused on getting page views, then try to act like blogs are inherently better than message boards. That is one of the reasons I almost never read any Phillies blogs, because it's pretty obvious when they are just trying to be provocative and controversial just to get attention, something that isn't tolerated on here.

Also the blog format is more of a fascist setup where 1 "important" guy decides what to talk about and the lowly guests can only add their 2 cents at the bottom of the page. This is understandable when the blog is a diary about the author himself, or the writer is a noted expert or a particularly talented writer, but when the subject is sports teams, those things are almost never the case, and it's usually hard to tell the difference between the main author and the guests. I'll take mesage boards any day over blogs, especially this one.

What do those 3 numbers mean? I assume one is page views? There's no bleeping way you have 1 million unique users. No way. None.

I mean, the blog is part of ESPN's blog network, the Phillies are a big-market club and Bill has done great work for ESPN and other outlets, so I don't see why it's so outrageous.

I like the Phillies. They're my favorite baseball team. I think they will win a lot of games this year. I'm glad Jimmy Rollins resigned. He's my favorite player. I hope he plays well.

I wonder if that means the non-starting half of each pair will be more ready to pinch hit. I would imagine seeing major league pitching on a semi-regular basis is better than sitting on the bench and only getting four or five at bats a week.
