He said it more like being strong up the middle has been the key to our success, not hanging on to Utley and Rollins and Chooch as prospects. Just seemed weird that he left Victorino out of that.

Maybe b/c Shane started out mostly in RF with the Phils while Rowand was around? Who knows.

Rube knows it takes much more to fleece Ed Wade into making a random trade than just a phone call from Billy Beane.

Rube is gonna hate any movie about a MLB GM until they make the one about him.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

The CLIFF LEE saga alone would be better than Moneyball.

in his two best calendar months (May/July) Ibanez had OBPs of .339 and .320. Really think we are going to benefit tremendously from no longer employing him in LF

Of course, despite that declining offense, the Phillies have increased their victory total each season during their playoff run: from 89 to 92 to 93 to 97 to 102. It's an impressive accomplishment, but I think the Phillies will be hard-pressed to improve for a fifth year in a row.

1. Try to find correlation
2. Fail to find correlation
3. Make a general statement with no basis (I.E. the Phillies won't make the playoffs)
4. ???????????????????????????????
5. ESPN Insider article

He can't be too happy about them sticking a hockey rink in the middle of his yard
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response
