I am to the point where if we do not get him back, I will be really disappointed.

Philadelphia is now viewed as baseball heaven and the players see it that way, too. One former Phillies player who also played for the Marlins told me in spring training that he never felt he was in the major leagues until he came to Philadelphia. And that was from a veteran who also spent considerable time in triple A.

DOBBS!!!

This whole thing is pretty silly. Dobbs shuttled between Tacoma and Seattle -- and was mostly in Tacoma from '04 thru '06. Plus they were pretty bad Mariner teams.

It's not a good example of saying something regarding the Phillies.

Playing in Philly is better than being stuck in Tacoma during your prime years. Duh.

Or with the Marlins at any time.

It could be Paul Hoover too who I think would be more likely to say that. He also spent 10 years in AAA.

So Brookover is saying a guy who spends a lot of years in AAA finally feels he's in the big leagues when he is in the big leagues.

BRILLIANT!!!!

The fact that he hit his 600th HR in a Twins uniform I would think is more than enough.

#Twins' Thome went on trade waivers today. #Phillies want him, but almost no chance he gets through to them. #MLB

Maybe Thome has built up enough goodwill throughout his career that teams won't fuck him over for wanting to finish out his career with Chuck and a chance at a ring

I would think the Indians would want Kubel more than Thome.
