Oh FFS, the EPL kicks off and other random soccer stuff

But you're not listening - I DON'T LIKE MLS. What part of that don't you understand? I'm writing about players in Keane/Juninho/Beckham that aren't American. I don't have any skin in this game, but yes, I watch nearly as much EPL as you and way more MLS than you.

I'm just telling you that Galaxy "destroyed" MLS. Galaxy, as most soccer people who watch MLS and other leagues know, is a legitimately good team.

I don't think the Galaxy "destroyed" the MLS. They were the best team, but they only finished 4 points ahead of the mighty Sounders.

Apparently Spurs have given Pavlyuchenko an extension. Here is Pav's reaction:

Also, I hope Harry is still our manager in 2 weeks...

Well, Grant Wahl had an article, which you should read, where he talked about Galaxy having the 3rd most regular season points in the league and the first two teams didn't win the championship, so I don't know what to tell you. Sounders are pretty good too.

Galaxy also had the best defender in the league (four of the best XI), Robbie Keane and Juninho. I don't see West Ham doing that, or if they did, that simply matches Galaxy.

The Sounders are great. Great uniforms and they sell out their games and they won some kind of an international cup. Either they won it or they are competing for it. I think they even have some players with pace that play for them. Or maybe the coach has a pacemaker. Something like that.

Seriously, MLS soccer is really big up here and that's pretty cool.

i hate the spammers, but i think they'd beat the galaxy at least 7 times out of 10.

i love the soccer culture up here. multiple people at my gym wear some sort of soccer gear, although my area does have a decent amount of hispanic people. one of my first weekends up here i went to a bar that was packed full of sounders fans. they even refused to put the udub game on.

although it's probably like this in most cities now. in my 14 months in grand forks outside of my coworkers, i saw 2 kids wearing soccer jerseys, 1 pickup soccer game, and 1 old guy wearing a jacket of some second tier spanish side(he was born there, asked him about his jacket, or else i wouldn't have known the team). here, when i go out, i usually spot someone wearing soccer gear.

Yup. You should have been here during World Cup. I'd bet there's a bunch of folks from every country in the tournament living in these parts. They all love their soccer that's for sure.

Eastern Euros, Rooskies and the like; Central and South America. Asia and Africa. Yup. I think we got it all covered except maybe North Korea although there might be some double-naught spies around.

Ok, we're about even. I don't see what you see. I'd see about a 4-4-2 with respect to wins/losses and galaxy would have 3 or 4 of the best 5 players. But whatever. Like I said, I fully agree the championship provides better football than mls.

Liverpool are thrashing City, Hart is making a series of ridiculous saves. Cannot wait for a ball to go in off Skrtel's ass to put City ahead.

El Clasico about to start too
