It sounds as if Newcastle did absolutely nothing to improve this offseason. And from what I know, the club is not destitute financially.

They're in massive debt from what I hear and pretty much used the Carroll money to cover a lot of that. Who knows what's going to happen with Barton, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone by month's end, as well.

I'm very shocked by QPR's lack of signings this window. So much for their rich owners. I'm sure they'll make so upgrades in January if they're in trouble, but their owners made it sound like they were going to spend big this window and try to finish mid-table.
