He may not been promised in the sense that he can't lose it. More that he will be given the job if he comes in and does what he did last year. It would put everyone else in the position where they had to way outperform him to beat him out.

Anyway, that was a small point in my post. It is not one of the two main reasons I listed for not liking it.

Despite all the Phillies fans, Clearwater on March 21st is essentially the greatest place on earth. For those who have never done this, you need to start saving last week. I got mistook for a minor leaguer on my morning run. Pre game spread is fantastic.

It's a little over the top... so we win games 5-1 instead of 8-1... we have four starting pitchers who don't usually give up runs... that's usually a good sign you are gonna win games
