2011 ST Random Phillies Stuff II: Spring Harder

Postby PrattRules » Tue Mar 08, 2011 15:07:21

As of this second, 4 Phillies are batting exactly .304. That will change in about 8 seconds.

I just had a frightening thought. How long until the Phillies sign David Eckstein?

Scrappy, plucky, gritty Phils putting together a late inning rally.

Phils win with two in the 9th. Our scrubs were b etter than the O's scrub pitcher. Two walks, an error on a sac bunt and a bloob single by Rivero plates the winning runs.

Phils seem to be working on 9th inning comeback wins.

Hope the regular player start working on getting hits and scoring runs.

Baltimore only had three hits.

Lidge struck out two today. Gave up a run on a HBP; SB; and line drive misplayed by one of their scrub utility candidates.

Contreras also had two Ks and he; Baez; Meyer and Drew Carpenter pitched scoreless frames.

Victorino had two hits; Howard a wind blown homer and Mayberry went 1-3 with a double.

Phils had 9 hits and 4 walks.

Blanton ate 5 innings today -- he's the innings eater.

Romero working on putting guys on base and being silly. Gets one out; then a ground single. Then a grounder back to him that sticks in his glove. He can't get the glove off to throw it (Phils need to hire Terry Mulholland as pitcher fielding coach). Then he gets DP grounder.

Still working on things.

Dude at work brought me aside today and asked if i had ever heard about the Utley/Werth/Jenn trifecta thing. said a guy who coaches baseball down here in delaware is friends with some organization people and he was told that Werth was banging Jen.

i asked if he saw my name come up when he was googling the info

Herdon has typical inning. BABIP single of course. But he did get a K and didn't allow a run so that was good. Zagurski allows a single, then a double. GO scores a run. Looks like he was working on the same things as Romero.

Zags slams the door with a flourish; gets the last two guys with the K. He should probably be the closer.
