The stupidity, at least for me, is the sensational aspect.

I thought this came out because someone said, hey that looks like Rex Ryan's wife, in a video a couple years old. That doesn't strike me as "zero effort". That strikes me as people can be real asshats about revealing things that are none of their business.

But I don't see how this has anything whatsoever to do with Ryan's job as an NFL coach.

Its just my feeling that as soon as you put anything on youtube, in any capacity, you knowingly have lost your right to privacy. At that point, its completely within the right of the people to scrutinize, approve, or judge your content however they see fit. Its not like someone broke into their home and put the videos up for all to see (as far as I know).

so there's a Panther named Captain Munnerlyn

Darrelle Revis told reporters that Ryan addressed the situation in the Friday morning team meeting.
"His message this morning was, you know, he said, 'You guys might know about this Internet situation, some of you guys might not know.' He said, 'You'll find out later on today.' He said, 'Right now, I feel embarrassed. ... Right now, we need to focus on Chicago," Revis said. Another player, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told ESPNNewYork.com that Ryan referred to the report in the meeting as "an embarrassing family matter."

Revis didn't see a problem with Ryan's behavior, if he was in fact involved in the making of the videos.
"Foot fetish? Whatever. I mean, that's his wife," Revis said. "At the end of the day, that's his wife and he can do whatever he wants with his wife. It's not like he's out committing adultery or anything negative."
Linebacker Bart Scott, who has known Ryan from their days together in Baltimore said: "I love him to death, and I'll be right behind him, supporting him -- all the time. That's all I know how to do. It's family. It's not Coach Rex, it's Uncle Rex." Guard Brandon Moore didn't think the story would be a distraction.
"It has nothing to do with football," he said. "It's not going to be mentioned around here. Game-planning for the Bears, we don't put a sheet up and talk about the situations that are going on outside." Asked about Ryan's demeanor Thursday, Moore said, "He seemed like normal Rex to me."

That's awesome. Took a quick look at his wikipedia page and this quote from him is great:
Munnerlyn also said that his "sisters and brothers also have ridiculous names"
On where his name came from: My momma promised my grandmomma that she could name the last child. I was the boy of the family, and she named me Captain. Her great grandfather was named Captain, so I got named after my great-great grandfather. My sisters and brothers have normal names. I got the odd name. In the beginning it was kind of rough. Kids used to tease me a little, but it fits my personality, because I feel like I'm a leader.
