Other stories include:

Chooch switched to perfect English when he was hitting on a bartender

Lidge talked to a friend of mine for a while about putting pepperoni on everything

Brett Myers and another friend had this exchange when he tried to offer him an appetizer, some kind of asiago cheese thing:
"What the $#@! is that?"
"Just try it."
"$#@! you, you try it."
"Sorry, sir."

I think I want to see the pictures if there are Phillies in them.

When Pedro pitches well for the Phillies, it drives fugees bonkers. Imagine what it will do them when he pitches awesome against the Yanks.

Depending on tone, that could have been good natured banter, or Myers is a real dick. On the other hand, I've never been urged by a server to try something. On the third hand, if it's on a tray and has a toothpick in it, I'll put it in my mouth no questions asked.

If tonight was the last night, it was a hell of a ride.

I have a few friends who work at Duffer's on Rt. 202 and Brett Myers has been known to frequent that establishment. They have all told me Myers was an insufferable dick. Which shouldn't be surprising.

Yes it was a great ride and it sucked that we couldn't get any runs for him while he was on the mound. He's pitched 13 innings of post season ball, giving up only 3 runs and the team is 0-2 in his starts.

Pedro's going to pitch game 6 and clinch the WS for us. Then he'll ride off into the sunset.

I'd really like to have Pedro back in 2010, but if he does clinch the world series and then disappears, maybe goes to live in some small village in the Dominican Republic, or just go off like a hermit and live in the woods, with occasional legendary stories or rumored sightings now and then. "Some say he wanders the earth healing the sick...some say he lives in a small remote village, coaching a local baseball team...I think he's out there, waiting for the right time to ride back into the spotlight on a white horse to save us all". Like at the end of the Road Warrior...that would be awesome.

As long as he comes back in say...7 years like Rambo...and straight dominates...then disappears back into the jungle.

Actually, I think Pedro is going to take over the Dos XX commercials as the world's most interesting man when he retires from baseball.

Since they signed Pedro I have been saying to a coworker who is a Yankee fan that it is going to be great to see Pedro beat the Yankees to win the World Series. At the time though I imagined him coming in to a game 7 in relief.
