Yea, what I get is "1st WFC won due to opponent forfeiting 4th game, down 3-0 in the series"

Unfortunately, we'd never be able to see this on TV because all the fapping by the broadcast media would short out the satellite feed equipment.

OK, I'm officially obsessed with Pedro.

For now, Pedro has eclipsed Rollins as my favorite Phillies.

He's consistent, which is really valuable in a long season. But Pedro appears more likely to dominate a playoff game.

I think the idea is that Happ is the odd man out especially considering his recent injury.

Unless Blanton gets injured, he's starting Game 2 or 3 of the NLDS.

That and Romero/Eyre being out, yeah. But I was thinking more about Pedro or Blanton in Game 3.

I was torn between Happ and Blanton, but if Happ comes back from his injury and pitches as he has pitched, I'd take him over Joey Cupcakes

I think particularly with the righty-heavy lineups we'll be facing, Blanton has to be in there.

Absolutely. I like the idea of Pedro as your Game 4 starter over Happ, and Happ moving to the bullpen. The Phils need a better left handed selection outta the pen in the playoffs, rather then a potentially injured Romero/Eyre, the awful Traschner, and Moyer of course. I'm not sure Moyer would be an effective LOOGY, pitching on a day to day basis. I view him more as a mop up/long man in the playoffs, in case anybody gets shelled.

Hamels > Lee > Blanton > Pedro

RH: Madson, Lidge, Myers, Park, Walker
LH: Happ, Escalona

This is the most logical configuration. This assumes that Eyre and Romero aren't healthy. If they are, then one of them replaces Escalona. If both are healthy, then you take out Walker.

It makes 100% sense to carry 11 pitchers in the playoffs. Because of off days, you dont have to worry about running out of guys. Park is capable of going 2+ innings. Happ, as a starter, can throw 2-3 innings in relief if needed.

This means

Ruiz, Howard, Utley, Rollins, Feliz, Ibanez, Victorino, Werth
Bako, Dobbs, Brunt, Stairs, Francisco, Mayberry

14 position players, 11 pitchers = way to go

I don't like the idea of relying on Escalona as an important cog in the playoffs. He's only pitched 6.1 innings this year/in his career. Hopefully Romero or Eyre get healthy.

Hopefully Old Man Moyer takes offense at being left off the playoff roster in favor of Mayberry and retires.

If you look at the potential matchups, do we really need more than one solid lefty in the bullpen?

St. Louis has really no one that scares me, unless you think Ankiel would make Charlie run out of the dugout for a pitching change.

The Dodgers have Ethier and Loney, but again, not overly concerning.

Colorado has Helton and Hawpe.

It appears Helton is the most dominant lefty on the potential play off teams so again, I think we're fine with Happ and/or one of Eyre/Romero.

I agree with Floppy's roster--there's probably some grounds for wanting a speed guy like Berry rather than Mayberry, but that's a very minor quibble, and Mayberry himself is probably an adequate pinch-runner--but find it almost impossible to believe that Moyer won't be on there.

In this scenario, Paul Bako and Eric Bruntlett will be on the roster of the same postseason team - a team with legitimate expectations of advancement.

The mind fairly boggles.

EDIT: agree with dajafi that the politics alone dictates Moyer's occupying a postseason roster spot
