Pedro Martinez Knob Slobbing Thread

Postby FTN » Wed Sep 09, 2009 02:35:02

Pedro now has 4 regular starts and 2 rain shortened appearances

5.0 IP - 7 H - 3 ER - 1 BB - 5 K
6.0 IP - 7 H - 4 ER - 1 BB - 5 K
7.0 IP - 5 H - 1 ER - 0 BB - 9 K
6.2 IP - 7 H - 3 ER - 1 BB - 4 K

He's 4-0, and the Phillies are 6-0 in the 6 games he's started.

He's given up 5 HR in 23 IP, that's his bugaboo.

27/4 K to BB

25 GB/56 FB is gonna be an issue, obviously, but if he doesn't walk anyone and he can get over his first inning hiccups, he'll be fine.

here's the problem.... playoff time comes, it's a 4 man rotation, and his worst inning is his first. do you leave him off the roster or do you move happ to the pen?

Pedro's fresher and has had a shorter season. Happ has done pen work already this season. I'll take pedro over any other team's fourth starter.

This is not a problem.

I would at least partially base that on whether the opposing team is more vulnerable to right or left-handed pitching.

If Romero isnt going to be ready and Eyre is really hurt, I think it's a given that Happ goes to the pen.

Madson
Myers
Happ
Park

That's all you need in the playoffs. Last year, Charlie basically only used 3 guys in the pen (Lidge, Madson, and Romero). Durbin and Eyre pitched a combined total of 6 innings and Happ/Condrey only pitched mopup time.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

I will pay any amount of money to see his next start. I only wish there could be more. Hundreds more.

Adding tonights gem and he's very Marty Bystrom-esque... circa '80
