Ipswich is an interesting choice. New owner, new chief exec. dunno about their support and set up, but I can't imagine that it's bad otherwise he wouldn't have said yes. He won't have the same amount of money as in sunderland, but you'd have hoped he learned from his mistakes there anyway. 2 year contract, which is pretty canny on both sides.

Only united raising ticket prices for 09-10.

Everton, Fulham, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Sunderland and West Ham United have all offered reductions on season-ticket prices next season. The more cynical will claim the need to fill rows of empty seats is driving the pricing strategies at Manchester City and Sunderland but that argument does not apply to Portsmouth. Fratton Park has been more than 95% full this season, yet some punters will be able to sit in the same seat for £120 less in August.

Even Mike Ashley knows it would be tough for Newcastle to charge more when they won't be in the top division next year.

I think the demand curve for football in Toon is as inelastic as floppy's lad after arse shaving's performance on saturday.

Saturday was the day Floppy wanted to heave Wenger out of a moving vehicle for not starting Arshavin. Tuesday was when he made Floppy stand at attention/ended Liverpool's title hopes. But your point is taken.

Meaningless, but surprised me:

I named 10 Non-Flyers in the NHL (the 10th was a real fight, I finally ended up asking if Brind'amour was still in the league)

I was able to name 48 MLS players. All without looking.

I'd get farther on MLS players than hockey players, but probably not to 48.

KC-NY last night was pretty lame. Wish the Toronto-Chivas games from the night before had been national.

Not a whole lot of upside today, and quite a bit of downside. Anyone watching this? My sound is like two seconds off. It's annoying.

Villa and Everton both dropping points would be cool

Wow. Masch made a meal out of a nothing challenge. Xabi scores. I don't feel bad, maybe a touch embarrassed, but if I was rooting for Hull I'd probably be angry.

Liverpool have been awful this half. Awful.

Not getting the hate. They came up from the championship, they're not hoofers. Better they're up than boro or an allerdyce team

their manager applies fake tan like I apply soap in the shower. He's acted like a jackass on numerous occasions this year, running his mouth, and not just going about his business. The whole Fabregas thing, the nonsense he was spouting after the game. They should get relegated. Hate.

Yeah iheard he'd been a bit of a dick but the point stands. They play footie unlike, say, Stoke. I fucking hate teams coming up from the championship and molding themselves in the image of Bruce, megson or allerdyce. So he can be as much of a dick as he likes.

Well, he didn't try and stick it to your team, so of course you don't care as a neutral. But I'm not really a neutral.
