Six goals in their last five games. It really does not matter who is on defense if you are averaging 1.2 goals per game. You know shit is going sideways when Mark Streit has one less goal than Giroux and three times as many goals and Simmonds and Voracek combined. Those two are also a combined -14.

Not a lot of attractive trade pieces. Streit should definitely be moved, and he may be the best piece.

Simmonds and B. Schenn could be attractive pieces to move, but I am not sure what they are going to do. Hard to move Schenn when he has been one of their better offensive guys.

My apologies, but this is nonsense. As if winning is a matter of pride and not talent. Hasn't the discussion been that the players aren't good enough?

He can certainly defend himself but I don't think rolex was correlating pride with winning at all. I maybe think the point is that, on some nights (maybe many) these guys just appear to give zero fucks and that IS all about pride. Is anyone here going to argue that Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Couturier, Laughton, B Schenn do not have the talent (some of it elite) to succeed in the NHL? No team is 23 deep. Everybody has a Raffl or a Bellemare or a Read. Those guys will never dominate but they have roles and they generally play them well.

The Flyers certainly have enough talent on the top two lines to win but, for whatever reason, they are struggling right now. We all knew coming into the season that the blue line was going to be a problem and that has certainly been the case through 13 games. The not scoring is something that only the most pessimistic fan would have expected, IMHO.

eh, they're a one line team (well, two players really). it hasn't been that hard to shut them down 5 on 5 for a while. they usually did a lot of damage on the pp to make up some of the difference.

This sums up my sentiments. There have been times when G bellied up to the bar and took over a game and refused to lose. I'm not seeing that right now out of any of the Flyers. IDK whats going on with this team but they're flat every game these days. Maybe its that the forwards are ticked at the defensemen for their inept play; perhaps its knowing that Hextall is going to be bringing up the moving van for some of these guys; whatever, its beyond me. None the less, the fans are investing their money, time and emotions with this team and they're not getting a fair return. Five goals in six games? That's hard to fathom. This is a team that is playing sad hockey and effort/pride does matter. The organization has gone through the changing coaches thing. Now its on the players. They need to dig down and play better or turn in their retirement papers (that means you Vinny.)

Their even strength numbers have been bad for at least 2 years. Voracek, Simmonds, and Giroux to a lesser extent have done a lot of their scoring on the PP in years past.
