They had a really good start, but in the big picture they were still only in a wildcard spot even with how well they played. They had a tough schedule, but it is crazy to think that even if they played as well as they did going into the Buffalo game that they would barely make the playoffs if everyone kept up the same pace.
I'm less worried about the defense because I know they have young guys for the future, it is more the offense that worries me and has been a problem for a few years. 5 on 5, they just aren't good enough at generating scoring changes. Voracek, Giroux, Simmonds, all get a ton of their scoring done on the PP. Obviously I don't think you can move Jake or Giroux, but Wayne may be a guy you look to see what you can get.
Mason hasn't looked very good, maybe it is the family issues he had earlier this year but he has let up some really bad goals.
somehow giroux gets a penalty when he gets hooked down so it's 4 on 4 instead of a pp, some guy just skates around the net with streit on him and fires it in. shit goal all the way around.
Didn't realize this was the Flyers' last visit to Northlands/Skyreach/Rexall. Next year it'll be Rogers Place (not to be confused with Rogers Arena or Rogers Centre)
