Should be an interesting Game 3 start!

I'm guessing that's irrelevant now. The Red Sox will win tonight.

It's ashame...

You're probably right. Good thing current members of the Red Sox only have a lifetime .335/.409/.652 (1.061 OPS) line vs. Moyer in 158 AB.

You think he'd DH Coste even if Marson isn't on the roster?

I mean, I would. I imagine you would. Most of us probably would. But that "don't risk having to use your emergency catcher" thing seems like one of those rules Manuel simply wouldn't screw with.

You can DH Coste. Even if Ruiz gets hurt, Coste can catch, you just lose the DH the rest of the game.

I think you're right about this, but I also think there's a chance Jenkins or Stairs DHs if they've got good career numbers against a guy.

Stairs has hit Sonnanstine, Matsuzaka and Wakefield well, and Jenkins has hit Beckett well (and Wakefield, too, but only in 1 PA).

Dobbs has barely faced any of the opposing pitchers, so with these guys' histories against the starters, I would be pretty comfortable seeing Dobbs as the first guy off the bench. And with Jenkins starting, you could put him in LF and DH Burrell for a slight improvement defensively.

Yeah, I know. But even that feels like something Manuel wouldn't choose to do. Hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Unless Jenkins absolutely owns one of the pitchers, there's no reason he should start.

That may well explain why we haven't heard anything definitive yet about the Marson/Taguchi decision.

I'd still rather have a righty on the bench other than So to possibly PH for the DH if they bring in a lefty to face Dobbs late in the game.

I asked him what time they leave for Boston tomorrow and he paused, smiled, and said around noon. Then some guy asked him if Boston won already, and I chimed in with "No silly, it was a joke between me and my buddy Shane".

At least Vic got it!!!!!
