their odds really are dwindling, probably barely 20% at this point. obviously that's not impossible. certainly the odds of brett myers hitting a double in any given at bat are lower than that. but it's getting less and less likely.
last year, they won 12 of their final 16 games. both the mets and brewers are expected to win about 91.5 games-- the one who finishes with the worse record is probably going to win about 90, i would guess. we've won 79. this might take 12 of 16 to do it. and losing 3 or 4 games vs. the brewers might put us in a situation where we need to almost win out.
