Coste was on WIP around 9:30 this morning and said the Mets are an incomplete team that had no bullpen and no clutch hitting in September and didn't deserve to go to the playoffs, and nobody in the Phillies locker room was sad to see Reyes cry his ass to the offseason.. :P

He also said that he and his teammates never forgot that late July night where Reyes ran around the bases with his finger in the air after a HR...

NYDN:
Schoeneweis, seemingly destined to be traded despite one season remaining on a three-year, $10.8 million deal, served up the game-deciding homer. He came on to open the eighth with lefty-hitting Mike Jacobs due up. But Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez pinch-hit with righty-swinging Wes Helms. Helms deposited Schoeneweis' third pitch into the bleachers in left. Luis Ayala, who arrived in a trade from the Nationals for Anderson Hernandez in August, gave up a homer to the next batter, Dan Uggla, as the Marlins took a two-run lead.
Asked if this was the worst thing that could happen to a pitcher, Schoeneweis replied: "There's more important things in life sometimes." He then turned to his locker and broke down crying as chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon came to console him. Schoeneweis had been distraught since the premature birth of his fourth child last week.

i hate the mets just as much as the next bsg'er, but i sincerely hope that everything is alright with schoenweis' child. it doesn't mention if there were health issues but i assume there must be if they made a point to mention it.

agree totally. when my son was born last fall, he was 2 months premature and had a slew of medical issues to follow. it can be one of the most heartwrenching things a person can go through, no matter if you're a professional baseball player or just some schmuck who visits a baseball msg board entirely too much

That clip almost made me hate him more than the Mets.

I think the Castillo contract is even worse than Eaton's. At least Eaton wasn't 30 yet. Luis had just turned 32 and they gave him more guaranteed years than him.

Wow, he is seriously channeling a young Jerry Lewis there.

I'll say this - I lived in the New York area in the late 80s and he and Francesa already had their WFAN show then. He has a good plastic surgeon or something because he looks younger than me - and he's gotta be older than me in actuality, right? I mean, if he was on New York radio around 1989, he probably didn't get that gig straight out of college, so he must be close to 50. Looks more like 35.

not in most pics...in closer shots he looks like a shabbily-resurfaced Cantu
