I don't think Gordon is coming back. Even if he does, Seanez will go on the DL/to the glue factory. Eaton should come up with a phantom injury.

This makes me wonder how many rotations over the years have featured four (!) lefties

Right on, Phlop. This is a great great move. Happ couldn't pitch for 8 days anyway (4 before break and 4 of break) and was unlikely to be the first pitcher back from the break. I am really impressed with this thinking to get another bat up here.

It seems weird that Cervenak has never gotten a shot: he's hit pretty well in the high minors for a long time. Not a star by any means, but seems like a guy who could help someone off the bench.

I don't like Happ being sent down. I understand why, to ge tanother bat up, but I don't have faith that he's going to come back up....

think that bench is really starting to piss charlie off? good that they're trying to think of different options. Would that they would take a risk with the catching . . .

Possibly the best trade the Phillies can make now is Eaton for anything/cash/nothing. Then we can have Myers and Happ in the rotation and all will be right with the world.

You don't think Seattle would want Happ or Kendrick as part of the Bedard package?

I suppose their thinking is that the pitchers, minus Eaton, are doing well so they should tolerate Ruiz's total offensive void. While I'm curious to see what Marson or even Jaramillo could do, I can't strongly argue with this. If the top seven hitters were up to snuff, we could live with Carlos's .220/.320/.340 or whatever he'll wind up hitting.

Assuming that Ricky Bo is wrong and Myers WANTS to be in the rotation.

They pretty desperately need another RH hitter off the bench and it's great the Cervenak is finally getting his shot. He'll be swinging, for sure, with 9 walks in 364+ PA this year. Makes Feliz look like Bobby Abreu.

charlie basically doesnt even recognize that taguchi is on the team....

cervanek makes the bench better, if not for any other reason it keeps charlie happy.... you could tell he hates the bench

Is Mike Zagurski currently on the Phillies roster? I didn't know that.
